Homewood Garden Project

Project Description

Community Service…Fellowship…A Healthy Workout! This is what you can expect at the Gardening Project. The Pittsburgh Alumnae Chapter partners with the Western PA Conservancy each spring for with its annual gardening project. Our garden sits at the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Bennett Street.  The flower garden is a signature feature, bringing unique identity, beauty, character, and charm to the Homewood community.

We dress for the weather–in layers just in case it’s cool, with rain gear if it’s wet, plus our hats and sunscreen for the glaring sun–all to play in the dirt for a while.  The community takes part in contributing to the beautification of the neighborhood by planting and mulching perennials and which is tended throughout the year.  We thank you for supporting our greening and garden project.
